- The state contractor test is a closed-book examination.
- No reference materials may be used during the state contractor test.
- All materials brought to the state test site must be left in an unmonitored area at your own risk.
- The state test is a multiple-choice examination with four choices per question.
- Some questions require mathematical computation.
- Test questions are written to provide only one BEST answer and are NOT written as trick questions.
- All correct answers have equal value and there are no score reductions for wrong answers.

- Ample time is provided to answer all examination questions, so be sure to read each question and its four choices completely and carefully before selecting the BEST possible answer to the question.
- Find a quiet place to study, away from interruptions and distractions
- Allocate time and study the course material
- At the end of each chapter take our online practice test for the chapter you just completed
- Review your practice test results: review and re-take the practice test if necessary
- After completing the home study material re-take the online practice test for each chapter
- Re-study and re-take the online practice test for the chapters you were weak in
